Emotional Reflexology Course
This Emotional Reflexology Course will prepare you to work with clients that have tender reflexes due to emotional stress. When completed this course, you will be presented with a certificate of completion.
Prerequisite: Must be a certified foot reflexology therapist to take this training
Emotional Reflexology has been designed to detect and release the emotion or limiting belief stuck in the client’s body and that they are holding onto without needing the memory associated with it.
These sessions do not diagnose conditions, but rather give insight to thoughts that can influence dis-ease in the body and cement reactions into the negative rather than the positive, letting them be understood and released in a safe environment to bring in more peace and let go of emotional pain.

Emotional Reflexology Course Outline
History of Emotional Reflexology
Covers how emotional reflexology was developed and why it is important when working with clients that are experiencing emotional stress.
Foot and Emotional Assessment Techniques
- identification of signs of emotional stress in the feet
- completing a Reflexology Case Study
- client/therapist interview process, review reasons for completing of a Health Record and documenting a session on a Treatment Record.
Anatomy and Physiology
Covers an introduction and explanation of the anatomy, physiology of the systems in the body, related conditions and how to detect emotional imbalances in the reflexes. The systems include:
- The Nervous System
- The Endocrine System
- The Respiratory System
- The Cardiovascular System
- The Digestive System
- The Urinary or Renal System
- The Immune and Lymphatic Systems
- The Reproductive Systems
- The Musculoskeletal System
Key Areas of Emphasis for Specific Conditions in Reflexology
Introduces the student to an explanation and breakdown of each condition and the related systems and reflexes commonly affected within each condition.
The Method
Following national and international standards, this module covers treatment guidelines including providing a healing environment and hygienic practice, what to do before and after a session, a full reflexology procedure including method, pacing and technique.
Practicum
The practicum time allows the student to practice the routine in a professional manner (as taught in the classroom). The purpose is to develop thorough case studies consisting of a Health Record, Treatment Records, assessment documentation and evaluation for each client. Each student must complete 50 treatments (for a total of 100 practice hours). The practicum should include a minimum of 3 sessions with each client.
As certified reflexology therapists, students can charge clients for these sessions.
Mandatory Review
There is a 3-hour mandatory review given by the teacher half-way through the practicum. The goal is for the teacher and students to come together to review and evaluate the student’s case studies as well as the Reflexology Method.
Additional reviews may be requested by either the student or the teacher for an additional fee if necessary.
Studying & Exam Prep
The practical exam must be completed within 1 year of the last day of class.
(Extensions are available for a fee of $75 per extension.)
The practical component of 50 treatments must be submitted to the teacher at the time of the exam.
Your Certificate
Upon successfully completion of the theory and practical portion of the program, the student will be awarded a fully embossed certificate. This course fully qualifies graduates to practice this profession as a highly trained and skilled Certified Emotional Reflexology Therapist.
How Does Emotional Reflexology Work?
In today’s world, stress is a challenge (and more the norm than the exception). Worry can show up for what seems like no reason. Waking up tense, spending the day tense and going to bed tense does not allow the body time to relax.
This is a problem.
The body heals and restores itself in the parasympathetic mode, “rest & repair”.
There are usually three causes for balance in the body: physical stress, nutritional stress and emotional stress. Addressing physical and nutritional stress is important. The body was designed to move, and it needs proper nourishment to function. The body has an immune system to help protect from disease.
In my practice, I’ve come to understand that we also have what I call an emotional immune system. When there is an experience that causes fear, heartache, trauma or something else uncomfortable, the body doesn’t want to feel that again and records the memory to protect itself against similar circumstances if it ever encounters it again by remembering the surroundings and events.
The emotion tied to these memories become triggers, causing the same reaction when the body is remembering what the mind has already forgotten.
The emotion tied to these memories become triggers, causing the same reaction when the body is remembering what the mind has already forgotten.
It’s like when you hear a song or smell that brings back a memory that makes you smile; only, most times, a trigger only brings back the fear, panic or worry rather than the event.
Your body knows you much better than you do. It also knows if a memory is brought back to the conscious mind, it could be at risk of being removed, so it stays in the subconscious where it feels comfortable and safe.
The human body has a way of remembering what the mind has forgot.
It is like it has a built in emotional immune system designed to keep us safe from the things we do not want to experience, like: heartache, shame, guilt, etc.
These are the things that we really don’t want to fill our mind. They tend to cause misery rather than bliss. That “gut” feeling shows up to guide you away from the things you don’t want to experience to focus on the present for you to live in the moment.
It sounds perfect… and it really is, until your current moment is filled with fear, pain, stress, worry, grief, heartache, etc. without any obvious explanation for it other than your body is remembering what you have long forgotten, or it is hell bent on sticking on a heartbreaking memory that you just can’t seem to move past.
Then what?
“I’ve gone through all of the tests, and they show nothing”!
I was 37 before I discovered that emotional pain can cause physical distress and I’m aware of how frustrating that experience is. I highly recommend doing everything you can to get a confirmed diagnosis from some sort of medical equipment.
Being diagnosed with “I think it is” or “I don’t know” is not good enough. You need to know what you are fighting. However, if you’ve been through every test and there are still no answers, I call that pain with purpose. The body can use pain to try to get your attention… if you can understand what it is trying to remind you of, so you can finally let it go, life changes… and usually not the way you expect it to.
“It’s impossible, I’ll never feel better.”
Looking to find answers by doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting a different result, is indeed impossible. If what you are doing isn’t working, it’s time to try to expand the options to try something new. It is possible to turn “impossible” into “I’m possible”.

What Do Students Say About The Course?
Emotional Reflexology has been designed to detect the emotion or limiting belief stuck in the client’s body and that they are holding onto without needing the memory associated with it.

“I’ve been in counselling for years and I don’t feel better.”
How do you talk about something you can’t remember? Finding the source of the problem, rather than battling the symptom, is important in the healing journey.
